4 SUCs benchmark with MMSU
Four state universities and colleges (SUCs) conducted benchmarking activities here in the university this February.
The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), Benguet State University (BSU), Tarlac State University (TSU), and Isabela State University (ISU) visited the university to look into MMSU’s best practices and on how it gained its stars from the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Stars Rating System.
On February 4, the department chairs and program coordinators of the MMSU College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) presented their best practices in offering the college’s degree programs to the visitors from CBSUA.
MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis also presented the university’s accomplishments and programs to the guests, hoping that MMSU and CBSUA can explore possible areas for collaboration in the future. The faculty members of the visiting institution became interested in applying MMSU’s English programs (under the Language Center and the Department of Languages and Literature) in their school.
Meanwhile, last February 21, the MMSU QS team presented the university’s strategic plans, accomplishments, and journey in gaining its three QS stars to the visitors from BSU, TSU, and ISU.
In January, MMSU became the first state university in the country to be awarded with three stars by the QS Stars Rating System. Using the QS international metrics, it was evaluated on the following areas: teaching, employability, academic development, internationalization, facilities, innovation, social responsibility, and program strength. -- (by D.P.
