Senator Loren Legarda, a foremost environment advocate in the Southeast Asian Region, visited MMSU, Feb. 9, to speak in the Climate Change Forum held at Teatro Ilocandia. During the event, three climate heroes were recognized: Prof. Wilnorie Rasay of CAS, for his scuba-diving and coastal clean-up initiatives; the MMSU Energy Management Team, for their energy conservation breakthroughs; and the CIT Ecological Society, for their advocacy on waste recycling. Dr. Patricia B. Licuanan, chair of the Commission on Higher Education, was at MMSU Jan. 25 to visit the CHED Center for Teaching Excellence. She also graced a consultation dialogue with members of the Administrative Council at the FEM Hall Conference Room, Batac campus. Dr. Licuanan was en route to a meeting with presidents of HEIs in Region I held at the University of Northern Philippines in Vigan City. She was accompanied by Dr. Caridad O. Abuan, CHED regional director.
