MMSU reviews 44 research activities
A TOTAL of 44 research projects that were either completed or still on-going were reviewed and evaluated by the members of the panel of evaluators in a two-day in-house review conducted at the One-Stop Information Shop at the CRL Building, July 21-22.
The studies were conducted by 31 faculty and non-teaching university personnel and their co-workers who are involved in crops, livestock, forestry, environment, engineering, and food product development research.
Of the 44 research projects, 7 were on garlic; 5 each on vegetables, engineering, and fisheries; 4 each on fruits and bio-ethanol; 3 each on rice, forestry, and product development; and one each on ginger, environment, corn, extension, and livestock.
The in-house review determined which of the research studies are qualified for presentation in the annual commodity review to be conducted in August by ILAARRDEC prior to the annual regional symposium on research and development highlights in October.
In the regional symposium, the panel of evaluators will determine studies that can be classified as development technologies for verification, generation, and those that are mature enough for dissemination to farmers and other stakeholders. (By Reynaldo E. Andres)
