MMSU bounces back in pharmacist exam; yields 70.65% passing rate
AFTER last year’s setback when MMSU had passing rates lower than the national average, January 2014 takers in the Pharmacist Licensure Examination turned in good results.
Sixty-five out of 92 MMSU graduates passed the examination held Jan. 12-13 in Manila, Baguio, and Cebu. The university’s 70.65 percent passing rate is higher than the 53.26 percent national figure.
Of the 92 examinees, 78 were first timers – of whom 62 or 79.49 percent passed – while 14 were repeaters – of whom only three or 21.43 percent made it.
CHS dean Manolita Crisostomo and Pharmacy department chair Aileen Camangeg said the very good preparation of the graduates and the close monitoring by the faculty members bore fruit. They also thanked the university administration for the support in crafting and carrying out strategies to improve the board examination results.
The Department of Labor and Employment has identified pharmacist as one of the in-demand and hard-to-fill positions in the country.
