MMSU undergoes ISO recertification
By Daniel P. Tapaoan, Jr.
In its constant quest to meet international quality standards, the Mariano Marcos State University is undergoing recertification audit administered by the SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. starting today, April 11.
The second cycle of audit aims to recertify the conformance of the university’s quality management system (QMS) to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015.
A team of SOCOTEC auditors, led by Ms. Maria Fatima Mercurio, will examine documents, interview the university top management and process owners, and check the actual operations of colleges and units in Batac, Laoag, and Currimao campuses of MMSU until Friday, April 14.
University President Shirley C. Agrupis thanked the SOCOTEC for accommodating MMSU for ISO recertification, which is “essential in ensuring that we continue to provide quality service to our stakeholders as we strengthen our actions and procedures.”
“The result of this audit holds promise that will fuel our drive toward our vision to be a premier Philippine university and to be recognized internationally as an institution of quality,” President Agrupis mused.
MMSU first obtained the ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2020, which covers the provision of advanced, professional and higher education, research, extension and support services in Batac, Laoag, and Currimao campuses. (HLY/JVBT, StratCom)
