Sustaining its vibrant research culture, the Mariano Marcos State University is currently evaluating 61 research proposals of its faculty-researchers and full-time researchers through the 2023 Agency In-House Research Proposal Review on July 4-5.
Organized by the MMSU Research Directorate, the activity is being held for the review of proposals for possible implementation in the next two years through the university’s general appropriations for research services.
The review sessions are divided into four categories: 26 are under the Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry and Natural Resources and Environment; 22 are on Education, Social Sciences, Humanities, Culture and Arts; nine on Business, Management, Engineering and Industry; and four on Health and Wellness. These are being evaluated by 32 experts from the different colleges and units of the university.
Dr. Nathaniel Alibuyog, MMSU vice president for research and extension, commended the proponents for helping the university to deliver creative, relevant, and innovative research programs.
He also underscored that as an academic institution, “MMSU bears immense influence in advocating for and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” thus, must harmonize its efforts to existing institutional, regional, and national development plans.
“With your support, we can embark on this transformative journey where curiosity meets discovery and where the pursuit of knowledge fuels progress,” he mused.
Research director Bjorn Santos said the research review provides support for the production and dissemination of information in line with the University research and development agenda.
