MMSU alumnus tops CISA exam

PATRICK JOSEPH M. Sardonas, an April 2007 B.S. Accountany cum laude graduate of MMSU, ranked first in the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) examination held in December 2009. There were 47 examinees from various organizations in the country, and only 28 passed. They were recognized at the Inter Continental Hotel in Manila last April 6.

The CISA designation is awarded to individuals with interest in information systems auditing, control, and security. It is recognized globally and has been earned by more than 70,000 professionals since inception. Its information systems auditing and control standards are followed by practitioners worldwide.

Sardonas passed the certified public accountant examination in October 2007. He worked at Sycip, Gorres, and Velayo & Co. as an information technology auditor, November 2007 - June 2009. At present, he works as BSP (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas) bank examiner.

A varsity debater in college, Sardonas was part of the MMSU-SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) team which emerged as national champion and semi-finalist in the 2006 SIFE World Cup held in Paris, France.
