CTE scores high in BLEPT

THE COLLEGE of Teacher Education has flared high in the recent 2015 Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT) by obtaining the overall passing rates of 78.44% and 76.29% in the BEED and BSEd licensure examinations, respectively.

The ratings were too high compared with the national passing rates of 31.36% and 41.47%, respectively from both examinations given by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) last September 27.

In the licensure examination for elementary school teachers (BEED), 171 of the 218 examinees passed. One-hundred-ninety-nine of those takers were first timers, while 19 were repeaters. Of the first time takers, 168 passed garnering an 84.42% passing rate. On the other hand, only three out of the 19 who belonged to the group of repeaters successfully made it garnering a passing percentage of 15.79%.

In the licensure examination for secondary teachers (BSEd), 148 of the 194 examinees passed. One-hundred-fifty-five of the examinees were first timers, while 39 were repeaters. Of the first time takers, 132 passed garnering an 84.42% passing rate. On the other hand, 16 of the 23 repeaters successfully made it garnering a passing percentage of 41.03%. (By Reynaldo E.
