CSC-I lauds services of Registrar’s Office

THE REGISTRAR\'S Office has received a \"Very Good\" rating from the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) Public Service Delivery Audit (PASADA) program.

The announcement came from CSC Regional Acting Director Bienvenida L. Ragucos in a letter received Feb. 8 by President Miriam E. Pascua.

Ragucos said the services of the Registrar’s Office were tested and simulated by three groups of Public Service Monitors from October to December 2008.

Dr. Wilma Natividad, admissions director and university registrar, was pleased with the noteworthy achievement of the office which she leads. She said the announcement came as a surprise to them as they were not aware that they were being assessed.

A certificate of recognition shall be awarded to the said office in a special program to be announced later by the regional commission.

The PASADA is CSC’s proactive mechanism installed to address the problems wrought by inefficiency at the government’s first line of contact with the citizenry. It provides a mechanism through which the performance of government frontline services can be systematically checked and evaluated. The program operates on a simple strategy: a pool of volunteers or Public Service Monitors check and test out public services. The idea is for them to simulate and empathize with the experiences of the public, whether good or bad, as they transact business with the government.

Ragucos encouraged the office \"to keep up the very good work!\"
