CAS alumni hold medical-surgical mission
The BS Biology Batch 2001 of CAS conducted a medical-surgical mission in Carasi, Ilocos Norte, May 7.
With the MMSU Federated Alumni Association, Inc. (FAAI) and the CAS Alumni Association (CASAA) as co-sponsors, members of the batch provided free services and donated medicines and dental supplies to the patient-residents of the said municipality.
The event is in line with the “Career Service Program†of the Alumni Relations Office which gives opportunity to alumni from various units of the university to provide free services for community extension and involvement. Endowed with diverse professions and career paths, MMSU graduates are tapped to lend a hand to a target community.
Members of the batch who joined the mission were: Dr. Erwin Johnted G. Asuncion, municipal health officer of Carasi; Dr. Remelie M. Ballesteros and Dr. Khristine Q. Ofilas of the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center; Leila M. Cabalar-Tumamao, a company nurse; Edeliza S. Quemquem, a dental assistant in Pasig City; Pilar Carolin Villa-Pascual, a science research assistant at MMSU CASAT; and teachers Efren V. de la Cruz, Ruby Ginarose D. Hilario, and Eddie Jay A. Domingo.
Also present in the event were: Mr. Leonardo T. Pascua, FAAI president and alumni regent; Prof. Ciriaco Ragual, CASAA president; Atty Erme S. Labayog, CASAA vice president; Dr. Doreen Domingo, alumni relations office chief; Prof. Ma. Tereza A. Blanco, CAS alumni coordinator; Reina Belle E. Saludares and Billy Rei F. Saludares, both nurses; and support staff Rey Ablog, Darlene Nalundasan, and Arceli Salvador.
