Balay ti Alumni inaugurated
YESTERDAY’S dream is now a reality.
The Balay ti Alumni, situated at CTE, was blessed on June 30 and is now ready for occupancy. This is a project of the MMSU Federated Alumni Association.
Alumni representatives, university officials, faculty members, and staff witnessed the solemn ceremony officiated by Fr. Walde Batoon, rector of the St. William Cathedral. The event was part of the CTE College Day Celebration.
After the ceremony, the traditional showering of grains of rice and throwing of coins were done to symbolize luck, bounty, joy, and blessed years of service. This was followed by a simple program where the alumni expressed gratitude to those who donated some of their resources for the project which is considered a noble one and a lasting legacy of their love, unity, and loyalty to their Alma Mater. They appealed to the donors to continue to extend their support for the completion of its second floor.
The activity ended through a meeting presided by Dr. Prima Fe R. Franco, MMSU officer-in-charge. Here, the association gave a check amounting to P50,000 to Dr. Franco as an additional fund for the construction of the building’s second floor. The amount is CTE’s share in the FAAI identification card program.
The Balay ti Alumni is now being used by BS Pharmacy graduates for their board examination review from July to September this year. (By Rosabel L. Acosta)
