82 personnel get Service Awards

Eighty-two personnel who have been in government service for 15-40 years received their Service Award from the Civil Servie Commission in a special ceremony held Sept. 30 at the Laoag City Hall Auditorium culminating the 110th anniversary celebration of the country’s civil service.

Leading the awardees were  Dr. Heraldo L. Layaoen, vice president for planning, and external linkages; and Dr. Eduardo T. Borja, CTE dean. Following is the list of the other awardees:

Every September, the entire public workforce commemorates the establishment of the civil service system in 1900 by the Second Philippine Commission by virtue of Public Law No. 5, an act for the establishment of efficient and honest civil service in the Philippines. It is also an occasion to recognize and highlight the significant role of government workers in nation building.
