7 pass PT exam

“Only a delayed success.”

This was how Prof. Ryan Dean T. Sucgang, chair of the Physical Therapy Department, described the performance of their graduates who took their licensure examination, Aug. 3-4.

Of the 24 who took the examination, seven passed recording a 29.17 percent rating. They are: Kristina Cassandra L. Alcantara, Leah Mae Y. Cabuyadao, Charis Easter Joy G. Castro, Phoebe Ross C. Coloma, Aarjohnjerick D. Fagaragan, Prescious Anne R. Gallardo, and Margie S. Miguel.

The national passing rate was 52.28 percent representing 355 passers out of 679 examinees. According to Sucgang, 48 of the 67 PT institutions in the Philippines that fielded examinees in the August 2013 test were not able to level with the national passing percentage.

The PT Department considers the low turnout of passers as a challenge to further enhance their strategies in preparing their graduates for the examination. He, nevertheless, thanked the MMSU administration for its support and encouragement and expressed hope for a better performance in the February 2014 examination.

“This is only a delayed success. We will rise above all these challenges”, he optimistically told the Newsletter.
