11 programs pass accreditation

Eleven MMSU academic  programs passed their respective accreditation levels after a survey visit by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered College and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) on March 11-15 and April 23-25.

 

This was confirmed by Dr. Manuel T. Corpus, AACCUP president, through a report furnished by the agency's Technical Review and Board Action. MMSU received the report last July 3.

 

Of the 11 programs, eight were evaluated for Level IV Phase I, while four were evaluated for Level II status. Ten are undergraduate programs except for one which is a graduate degree. The eight programs which passed Level IV Phase I are MA Arts in Nursing, BS in Economics, BS in Accountancy, Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education, BS in Nursing, and BS Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering.

 

Also, four courses that hurdled Level II accreditation are BS in Business Administration major in Human Resource Development Management and Marketing Management, BS in Hospitality Management, BS Pharmacy, and BS Physical Therapy.

 

The AACCUP accreditors evaluated the programs based on 10 areas: the university's vision, mission, goals and objectives; faculty; curriculum and instruction; support to students; research; extension and community involvement; library; physical plant and facilities; laboratories; and administration.

 

To pass Level IV, Phase I, programs should meet or exceed the minimum grand mean of 4.5 and minimum area mean of 4, while programs evaluated for Level II should pass 3.5 and 3 minimum grand mean and area mean, respectively. 

 

The programs submitted for AACCUP evaluation passed the required criteria. 

 

The validity periods of programs that have passed Level IV, Phase I and Level II status are March 16, 2019 to March 15 2020, and May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2023, respectively.
