By virtue of MMSU Special Order No.10-002, Dr. Marilou P. Lucas was the newly appointed CHED-Research Director for Region 1 effective February 9, 2010. She replaced Dr. Rodolfo A. Natividad who became ZRC Director for Region 1 and CAR from April 10, 2009 to February 8, 2010.

Dr. Lucas was selected by CHED and MMSU because of her outstanding performance in research and development. Her several publications (local, national and international) in refereed jornals and non-refereed journals qualified her more to become the third ZRC Director.

The new ZRC Director will render 12 hours per week at the ZRC Office based at MMSU Crops Research Laboratory Building. At the same time, she will serve as Assistant Professor at the College of Business, Economics and Accountacy - Department of Ecoomics.
