6 MMSU students top career service exams
MMSU students obtained top scores in the Career Service Examination (Paper and Pencil test) held May 22.
In the sub-professional level, Raziel Mae R. Pascual, an accountancy student, obtained a rating of 84.54 percent, highest in Region I and fifth in the nation. Rose Ann Ruguian (BS Accountancy, IV) ranked third in the region. Her score of 84.31 percent was seventh highest in the country. Also in the regional top ten were eighth placer Janine Asuncion (BSBA Management Accounting, IV) with 83.51 percent and Jose Miguel Agonoy (BS Accountancy, III) with 83.50 percent.
Not to be outdone in the professional level, Jonas B. Dela Cruz (BS Civil Engineering V) and Dizza Dane A. Calaustro ranked first and fifth, respectively, in Region I. Dela Cruz, immediate past president of the Central Student Council, garnered 84.06 percent while Calaustro got 83.69 percent.
According to the Civil Service Commission, 12,207 individuals passed the exam out of 97,777 takers which consisted of 81,599 examinees of the Professional level and 16,178 examinees of the Sub-Professional level.
The professional level examination is consist of, vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, analogy, logic, and numerical reasoning. The subprofessional level has no items in analogy and logic, but includes clerical operations. Both levels of the examination, a requisite for entry to government service, have general information questions on Philippine Constitution, Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A. 6713), peace and human rights issues and concepts, and environment management and protection. To pass, an examinee needs to obtain a minimum passing score of 80 percent.
