Stallions Stride: Panagsarabo 2026 gathers over 5,000 MMSU freshies

Welcoming a new generation of learners, Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) held its academic year kick-off celebration, Stallions Stride: Panagsarabo 2026, bringing together more than 5,000 first-year students from the university's different colleges on July 15 at the MMSU Covered Court.

The event opened with The First Gallop, a community parade participated in by freshmen, university officials, faculty members, and staff. Students also participated in Saddle Up: Laro ng Lahi, where they competed in traditional Filipino games that promoted teamwork and camaraderie.

The celebration also featured performances by Surtido Banna, La Jota Moncadeña, Kalatong, Nasudi Chorale, Oasioas, Kumakaret, Nasudi Strings, Contemporary Dance, and Hip-hop performers.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Aris Reynold Cajigal assured the students that MMSU remains committed to an inclusive learning environment.

"Make the SUCCEED agenda of our university part of your daily academic life here at MMSU. As we warmly welcome you to your new academic home for the next four years, rest assured that the university, led by President Manzano, will uphold the principle that no one is left behind."

In his message, President Manzano encouraged the freshmen to embrace the opportunities and challenges of university life and make the most of their stay at MMSU. He also acknowledged that college life comes with challenges and assured students of the administration's commitment to continuously improving the university experience.

"College life is supposed to be hard, but our administration is committed to making your life better. There is no perfect university, but we will endeavor to get closer to being perfect."

The event concluded with The Clash: Rhythm in the Stables, an inter-college Battle of the Bands competition that showcased the musical talents of MMSU students.

Organized by the Office of Student Affairs and Services and University Student Council, the annual academic year kick-off officially welcomes incoming freshmen and introduces them to the university community, traditions, and campus life.
