Former EL Fellow returns to MMSU for English workshop series

Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), through the College of Arts and Sciences, welcomed back Prof. Matthew Gleason, former English Language (EL) Fellow of the university, as he officially kicked off his Special Workshop Series on ๐๐ญ๐ฐ๐ฃ๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ด ๐ช๐ฏ ๐๐ฏ๐จ๐ญ๐ช๐ด๐ฉ ๐๐ฅ๐ถ๐ค๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ: ๐๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ณ๐บ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ณ๐ฏ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ on January 29 at the Center for Flexible Learning.
The Department of Languages and Literature hosts the workshop series in partnership with the MMSU Language Center. The workshop series aims to provide English educators and language professionals, as well as undergraduate students, with research-informed, classroom-ready strategies responsive to contemporary trends in English education.
The opening session, Workshop 1: Public Speaking for Memory and Learning, marked the first installment of the three-part series designed to offer practical techniques, pedagogical insights, and renewed instructional inspiration.
During his visit, Prof. Gleason also paid a courtesy call to MMSU President Virgilio Julius Manzano Jr., and recalled his experiences and training gained through past internationalization and academic exchange initiatives.
Prof. Gleason previously served as an English Language Fellow at MMSU, where he contributed to language teaching, faculty development, and outreach programs in collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School.
The workshop series will continue with two upcoming sessions, namely โHappy Little Clouds: Using Art in the Language Classroomโ scheduled on February 9, and โGame Design and Gamification in TESOLโ set on February 10, both of which will further explore innovative and learner-centered approaches to English language teaching.
