The University Innovation and Technology Support Office (UITSO) is dedicated to safeguarding the intellectual property (IP) rights of faculty, researchers, and students while facilitating the successful commercialization of their research outputs. It provides expert guidance and assistance in identifying, protecting, and managing IP assets, ensuring that innovations are legally secured and strategically positioned for market entry. Through capacity building, advisory services, and linkages with relevant agencies and industry partners, the UITSO empowers the university community to transform research breakthroughs into impactful products, services, and technologies that contribute to societal advancement and economic growth.

The TBI is committed to boosting economic activities through enterprise creation, business development and technology transfer and commercialization by designing extensive activities, maintaining strong linkages with public and private organizations and providing co-working spaces equipped with the necessary facilities and equipment.

  1. Develop Interest in Technology Business Incubation

    To develop an interest in technology business incubation, the MMSU TBI focuses on the following objectives:

    • Awareness Creation - creates awareness of the role and importance of technology business incubation within the ecosystem.
    • Stakeholder Engagement - develops interest among students, faculty, non-teaching personnel, tech generators, startups, and existing businesses to join the incubation program.
  2. Establish Strong Linkages

    To establish strong linkages, the MMSU TBI aims to build a collaborative network through these actions:

    • Institutional Networking - develops a strong link with educational institutions, government and non-government organizations, and various industries.
    • Collaborative Agreements - promotes collaborations and forges agreements toward the creation and development of businesses within the community.
