MMSU Press publishes 7 faculty-authored books in second book launch

In time for the eighth month of Dr. Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr. as the 8th President of Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), the University Press launched seven faculty-authored books in its second book launch held today, October 28, at the Center for Flexible Learning.
Said launch supports MMSU’s effort to promote knowledge access through books, and encourage a stronger culture of publishing.
The seven faculty-authored books launched include: A Module in Residential And Commercial Furnishing by Prof. Mylene Calaranan; A Module in Visual Graphic Design by Mr. Kenneth De Los Santos; A Module in Automotive CAD and Blueprint Reading by Dr. Janet Rivera; A Module on Technical Writing by Ms. Athen Lee Delos Santos; Tourism Captured: Worktext in Social Media, Photography and Videography by Dr. Bryan Realgo; Preparation for Instructional Materials by Dr. Meejay Domingo and Prof. Danica Hanna Pastor; and Zoology Lecture Manual by Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, Prof. Henedine Aguinaldo, Prof. Jessica Asuncion, Prof. Elpidio Cadalzo, Dr. Doreen Domingo, Prof. Flordeliz Estira, Dr. Prima Fe Franco, Dr. James Paul Madigal, Dr. Mae Ann Batuyong-Lista, Prof. Alice Geraldine Hernando-Pagaling, and Prof. Ma. Tereza Blanco(+).
The books, after a thorough review by the Instructional Material Development (IMD) office, will serve as official learning resources by the university. Meanwhile, the University Innovation and Technology Support Office (UITSO) facilitated the securing of copyrights under MMSU to secure intellectual property protection.
Dr. Bryan Realgo, author of Tourism Captured: Worktext in Social Media, Photography and Videography, acknowledged the University Press for its service, becoming a platform for publishing instructional materials valuable for intellectual growth.
“I hope that with this launch, more will be inspired to work with their instructional materials for publication,” Dr. Realgo added.
Meanwhile, Director Herdy Yumul of the Office for Strategic Communication expressed his gratitude to the university administration and authors for their continued support to the University Press, as it also helped the university forward its vision of as a lead producer of quality knowledge products.
The University Press, accredited by the National Book Development Board (NBDB), is granted the authority to publish, print and distribute books. The office handles review, formatting, cover design and production, ensuring compliance with the university brand standards. It already launched a total of 18 faculty-authored books, following its first book launch earlier this year.
