SCA urges employees to observe use of MMSU brand standards
MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis has urged employees to strictly observe the use of the approved brand standards in order to protect the integrity of the university seal and for consistency of other documents.
Speaking before the more than 100 heads of offices and units during the workshop on MMSU Brand Standards Manual (BSM) held at Teatro Ilocandia on October 12, Dr. Agrupis said the MMSU official seal has been increasingly difficult to determine because various versions have spawned over the years.
“The application of brand standards is part of safeguarding the institution’s reputation, forwarding into a world-class university, strengthening the external relations program, and providing efficient connectivity between various offices and projects, in clearer personalities in the other agencies it deals with,” she said.
The BSM was closely scrutinized by the members of the administrative council (AdCo), and was presented three times in the span of 17 months before it was approved by the Board of Regents (BOR) through Board Resolution No. 51-122-3.
“Integrity, excellence, creativity, innovation, love for God and country – that is MMSU Brand reflected in our symbols,” Dr. Agrupis said, adding that aside from this, the MMSU will also come up with a unified and harmonized flow chart manual in every function of the University as part of moving toward bigger International Standards Organization (ISO) accreditation.
“I guarantee that after coming up with a unified and harmonized manual of flowcharts in the different protocols and systems, no one will be confused or left behind,” she added.
After the launching of the application of the BSM, the services offered by the various sections under the Strategic Communication (StratCom) -- such as information, digital media, documentation, and photography -- were presented, which explored all avenues possible to make communication work as a vital strategy in helping to achieve the vision and mission of the University.
The MMSU has also come up with a University Press, which supervises the publication of instructional materials and, in the next few months, a University Bookstore will be set up where instructional materials will be sold.
At the close of her speech, Dr. Agrupis encouraged MMSU employees to create a clean and green culture in order to achieve vibrant and nurturing environment, one of the goals under her seven-point agenda.
“If you go around the campus, there are now less plastics and papers scattered along the way. When you go to the dormitories site and faculty housing, the areas are already clean and the road going to these places at night is already lighted,” she said stressing that no one can maintain this beauty without everybody’s cooperation.
