MMSU JPMAP named most outstanding HR student org in PH

The Mariano Marcos State University chapter of the Junior People Management Association of the Philippines (JPMAP), a national organization of human resource management students, was named Most Outstanding Member School. The recognition was conferred during the 21st JPMAP National Convention and 6th JPMAP Awards held on April 25–26, 2026, in Alfonso, Cavite.
The convention recognized the exemplary activities and events of JPMAP-MMSU, the academic organization based in the MMSU College of Business, Economics, and Accountancy (CBEA).
In their bid for the award, the organization submitted their accomplishments, which consisted mainly of student-led initiatives such as their SDG Series and Corporate Workplace 101 webinars, Gift of Love outreach program, Balik Alumni talks, among others.
Third-year student Adrian Ofilas, President of JPMAP-MMSU, said the recognition validated their organization’s hard work in pursuing JPMAP’s core values. “The award is a validation of our hard work and a stronger motivation to continue pursuing high standards. This is for MMSU and for the students, faculty, and staff who embody its IRISE (Integrity, Respect, Interdependence, Social Responsibility, and Excellence) values,” Ofilas shared.
Besides this recognition, MMSU was also awarded as the Most Dominant School for its participation and engagement in the convention and its other activities. It can be noted that the MMSU delegation brought home several awards from different contested events
Three teams were hailed as Champions in their respective contests: Ashley Nicole Balbalosa, Trish Denielle Tunay, Arabella Benigno (HR Quiz Bee); Joseph Bien Vitin, Faith Isabel Verano, Kylie Galeon, and Jekyle Mark Sera (JPMAP Got Talent); and Galeon, Margarette Gonzales, Lance Dela Cruz, Sean Cydrick Aldus, Vitin, Sera, Trixie Collado, and Faith Verano (Team Building).
In both HR Program Design and HR Case Analysis competitions, the MMSU contingent placed 1st Runner-Up. The teams were composed of Ofilas, Jhonalyn Honorio, Mark John Keneth Agamata, and Hanna Grace Josol (HR Program Design), and Leny Nicolas, Rodmarc Angelo Bagaoisan, and Kassandra Cabotaje (HR Case Analysis). Meanwhile, Carmeliza Asuncion brought home 3rd Runner-Up in the Essay Competition.
Aside from institutional and group competitions, several JPMAP-MMSU officers also received individual awards. Ofilas was recognized as the Most Outstanding Member School Officer, while Leny Nicolas received the title of Most Active JPMAPer. Both were given the Pillar and Leadership Award. Overall, the students were guided by their adviser, Mrs. Kristina Tugaoen.
With the theme, “Thriving in Multiverse: Navigating HR Dimensions of Expanding Possibility,” the national convention gathered contingents from all over the country. Currently, JPMAP is composed of 81 member schools nationwide. It is supervised by its professional counterpart, the People Management Association of the Philippines, a national professional organization whose membership spans companies and management executives engaged in human resource management and industrial relations works.
