Retirees of Mariano Marcos State University reaffirmed their support to the ACHIEVE agenda of University President Shirley C. Agrupis, which serve as compass in making MMSU as a premier Philippine university.
In a consultation forum held today, January 27, members of the MMSU Retired Employees Association (REA) shared insights to improve university’s initiatives, including the Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan dubbed Sirmata 2040.
The association emphasized, “access to renewable energy, reducing carbon footprint, settlement of land titling concerns, and protection of university campuses are essential in MMSU’s sustainable development. Former MMSU presidents, Dr. Santiago R. Obien and Dr. Miriam E. Pascua also joined the forum. Dr. Obien currently serves as the association president.
President Agrupis expressed gratitude to the university retirees “for the values you have inculcated in us, which enable the present administration to set its way forward.”
Moreover, the REA launched its book titled ‘Burayok,’ an anthology of diverse writings of some of the retirees. “This book is an infinite reminder that we have the REA in our back as we strive to make MMSU a premier Philippine university,” President Agrupis exclaimed.
The consultation was organized by the College of Teacher Education and the Directorate for Internationalization, Linkages, and Partnerships. (JVBT/DPT, StratCom)
