Employees of Mariano Marcos State University joined public servants nationwide in the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Fun Run on Sunday, September 13. The event marked the official kick-off of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary celebration.
The MMSU contingent was led by President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr., with Vice President for Administration and Finance Fides Bernardo Bitanga, Human Resource Management Director Gerard Ragudo, and several MMSU employees taking part in the run.
In addition to promoting health, fitness, and solidarity across the bureaucracy, the nationwide run served a higher purpose by raising funds for the Pondong Pamanang Lingkod Bayani (PLBi) Program.
The PLBi Program honors public servants who lost their lives in the line of duty. Honorees receive posthumous recognition through an official citation plaque, a one-time financial assistance grant of β±100,000 for their surviving families, and full educational scholarships covering baccalaureate, master's, or doctoral studies for up to three immediate family members.
