The Mariano Marcos State University and the Department of Education - Schools Division of Ilocos Norte have formalized partnership yesterday, September 12, to boost digital learning in the province.

In a five-year memorandum of understanding signed by MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis and DepEd-SDOIN Schools Division Superintendent Donato D. Balderas, Jr., the two institutions committed to collaborate on research projects toward the development, deployment, and evaluation of systems for instructional use and digital transformation.

They will also conduct capacity building initiatives and on-the-job training of students, share learning resources and provide technical consultancy.

Dr. Joye Duran-Madalipay, DepEd-SDIN CESO IV assistant schools division superintendent, Prof. Wilben Pagtaconan, MMSU information technology center director, faculty members of the College of Computing and Information Sciences, and other SDOIN officials joined the MOU signing.

Dr. Agrupis expressed confidence that the partnership “will lead to a more inclusive and technologically-advanced education system in the province.”

Atty. Balderas seconded, ensuring that the partnership shall be rewarding and sustainable.
