MMSU among best teacher education, nursing schools in PH anew

Once again, MMSU was recognized as one of the best teacher education and nursing schools in the Philippines in 2018.

Based on a ranking conducted by Local Pulse, the university is among the 24 (elementary level) and 67 (secondary level) best teacher education, and 43 best nursing schools in the country.

The university emerged as the third best teacher education institution (elementary level) with an overall score of 82.74 percent and landed fourth in the secondary level category where it garnered 78.38 percent.

Moreover, MMSU also ranked ninth in the list of best nursing schools in the country with a total rating of 79.02 percent.

LP created its school rankings to guide students who are planning to take any course in one of the tertiary schools in the country. It also aims to determine which colleges or universities are the best choice for students.

Tertiary schools were ranked based on the Weighted Overall School Board Performance in a Year (40%), Number of Total Examinees (20%), Top-Performing Examinees (10%), Level of Accreditation (20%), and Faculty-Student Ratio (10%).

MMSU was the number 3 top-performing school in the November 2018 Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE), and number 9 top-performing school in the September 2018 Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT), secondary level. Nicole Jennica Isla also landed fifth in the list of topnocthers for NLE.

A total of 77 BS Nursing graduates passed the 2018 NLE, with one of them as number 5 topnotcher. Meanwhile, 182 B Elementary Education and 226 B Secondary Education graduates passed the 2018 BLEPT.

The university is a CHED Center of Excellence in Teacher Education, and its BS Nursing degree is a Level III-accredited program.
Last 2017, LP School Rankings showed that MMSU ranked 4th best elementary and 10th best secondary teacher education schools, and 7th best nursing school in the country.
