Faculty-researchers of Mariano Marcos State University produced 30 action research proposals after completing the two-month Action Research Training (ART). In the closing program held at the MMSU Center for Flexible Learning on September 21, the proposals were turned over to the Research Directorate (RD) and the Office of the University Vice President for Research and Extension (VPRE) for implementation. 

Trainees from the College of Teacher Education (CTE), College of Business, Economics and Accountancy, and College of Health Sciences underwent nine training sessions which started on July 6. Dr. Socorro E. Aguja from the De La Salle Araneta University and Dr. Maricar S. Prudente from the De La Salle University served as trainers.

VPRE Nathaniel Alibuyog lauded the researchers for successfully producing the proposals, and committed his support to their implementation. He also hopes these “will improve the teaching, learning, and working experience in the university.”

“It is a sweet reward to see that your efforts were paid off with these potentially useful proposals which we will fund and implement in the near future,” said research director Bjorn Santos. 

With the theme, Advancing Action Research for Transformative Education, the training capacitated faculty-researchers in conceptualizing, publishing, and utilizing research results. The training was organized by the RD-Humanities, Social Sciences, Communication and Education Research Center led by Prof. Jareason Fabre, and the CTE Research Office headed by Prof. John Paul Vallente.
