Team MMSU shines in 1st ASCU-SN Goodwill Games

Team MMSU affirmed its powerhouse reputation when it reaped awards at the 1st Goodwill Games of the Association of State Colleges and Universities-Solid North held May 4-6 in Iba, Zambales.

Hosted by the Ramon Magsaysay Technological University, the event aimed to promote solidarity among SUCs in the North which covers Regions I, 2, 3, and CAR. The opening program had Jose S. Cojuangco Jr., president of the Philippine Olympic Committee, as guest of honor and speaker.

In the men’s division, the 82-strong Team MMSU was champion in volleyball and table tennis, and first runner up in lawn tennis, darts, 5K fun run, and fun games while in the women’s division, athletes bagged the championship in fun games and ranked first runner up in badminton. Dr. Ma. Victoria R. Domingo was adjudged second runner up in the Search for Ms. ASCU-SN. She also won Best in Sports Wear in the competition participated in by ten candidates from various SUCs. 

PESSDO Director Arsenio Gallego and Sports Chief Robert Barangan, who were elated with MMSU’s feat in the games, look forward to an even stronger finish next year by scouting more potential players.
