<P><FONT face=Verdana size=5><STRONG>ROTC CADETS SHINE IN SHOOT FESTS</STRONG></FONT></P>
Slugging it out with 26 competitors, Cadet Jermeane M. Battulayan emerged fourth runner-up in the Caliber 22 category in the National Shoot Fest sponsored by the Army Reserve Command on Dec. 5-6, 2008 at Fort Magsaysay, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.
Earlier, Battulayan and Ian Godfrey Alimbuyugen bagged the championship in the Cal .22 and Cal .45 categories, respectively, in the 6th Regional Phil Army ROTC Rifle and Pistol Shooting Competition held Nov. 28, 2008 in Tuba, Benguet. In the same tournament, Cadet Justino Ignacio Juan ranked second in the Cal. 5.56, Armalite category.
TSg. Edwincio R. Valle of the Philippine Army headed the delegation which also included MSgt. Bernardo C. Solomon Jr. and Sgt. David John T. Rondal as coaches.
In related news, Cadette Vanessa Jane V. Albano, first year nursing student, landed first runner-up in the ROTC Regional Annual Speech Contest held in Baguio on Oct.11, 2008. Delivering a piece with the theme \"Empowering the youth towards a strong republic\", Albano was under the tutelage of Prof. Constante Salasac of the CAS Department of English, Humanities and Literature.
