Duplicating last year’s feat, MMSU won the championship in the third regional speech choir competition held at the Saint Louis College in La Union, Dec. 12.

The MMSU contingent, composed of 25 students, won the judges’ approval with their flawless interpretation of Edgar Allan Poe’s \"The Raven\", besting 13 other participating schools.

Divine Word College of Laoag (DWCL) ranked second while Northern Luzon College landed on third spot in the annual competition sponsored by the Association of Philippine Colleges of Arts and Sciences.

Mr. Mark Lawrence Fernandez and Mr. Ianree Raquel served as coaches of the participants. Also involved in the tournament as creative advisers were Mr. Rowell Tagatac, Mr. Randy Leaño, and other English and humanities mentors of CAS.
