MMSU inks 11 MOUs at Marmara Career Fair in Turkey

MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis  led the signing of 11 memoranda of understanding (MoU) with 11 universities from Turkey at the Marmara Career Fair (MARMARAKAF) held at the Kocaeli Congress Center and Kocaeli University Umuttepe Campus on February 26.


Kocaeli University, Bartin University, Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University, Duzce University, Karabuk University, Kocaeli Health and Technology University, Yalova University, Zonguldak Bulent Ecevit University, Balikesir University, Izmir Democracy University, and Bursa Teknik University, new partner universities of MMSU, have agreed to conduct joint research conferences and research and capacity building activities; share academic materials and publications; exchange of faculty, staff, and students for instruction, research and community engagement; development and offering of transnational education and short term courses; and promote Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).


Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson Prof Popoy De Vera, five University Presidents from the Philippines, and other CHED central office officials witnessed the MoU signing ceremonies.


Dr. Mee Jay Domingo, MMSU director of internationalization, linkages, and partnerships; Prof. Jeanette Dials, MMSU chief of international faculty and student mobility; and Prof. Arlene Gonzales, MMSU chief of international programs, were also present in the MoU signing ceremony.


Hosted by Kocaeli University, the MARMARAKAF supports various institutions and businesses in training and providing qualified human resources. Since 2019, it has created avenues for professionals, employers, and students to share their career and organizational experiences. 


This year’s MARMARAKAF features Philippine Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) showcasing their respective educational and cultural activities.


Past the career fair, PSCA has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUAS) and Istanbul Aydin University (IAU). She will also be a featured speaker at the 9th Annual Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE 2024) in Istanbul, Turkey, with 3 MMSU officials as panelists.
