<B><P><FONT face=Verdana size=5>CTE gets Intel Teach training grant</FONT></P></B>

As training hub of Intel Teach (IT), the College of Teacher Education received Php120,000 as training grant to support its capacity to upscale the integration of the IT Essentials Courses both in the pre-service and in-service schools.

The awarding was one of the features of the National Pre-service Conference at Bohol Plaza Hotel, Tagbilaran City, Bohol on Feb. 8-11 attended by deans and master teachers from 73 public and private teacher education institutions in the counry.

In addition to the grant, CTE also received a plaque of appreciation for vigorously supporting the integration of ICTs in the classroom and for training DepEd teachers using the IT curriculum as model. Likewise, the team of senior trainer Candelaria D. Garo and master trainers Johnson Modesto A. Blanco and Ms. Mariffi R. Ramos were also awarded certificates of appreciation for their commendable performance in implementing the IT curriculum.

The college shared the honor of being outstanding performers with Mindanao State University Iligan Institute of Technology College of Education hence were launched as training hubs or cores of the Communities of Learning in the entire country.

Earlier, on Feb. 6-7, an enhancement workshop for the newest version of IT Curriculum known as Essentials V10.1 (using the Web 2. tools to facilitate teaching) was held at the San Carlos University, Talamban Campus, Cebu City where Garo served as trainer and Blanco as participant.
