<font style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-weight: bold;\" size=\"5\">CAS instructor given Fulbright scholarship <br></font>
ROMMEL M. Dascil, social science instructor of the College of Arts and Sciences, as been selected candidate for a Fulbright student award in the United States by the Philippine-American Educational Foundation (PAEF).
The scholarship is slated in academic year 2009-2010. PAEF Executive Director Esmeralda S. Cunanan congratulated MMSU for the selection of Dascil.
Dascil’s impressive academic accomplishments have made possible his selection as candidate of the award. A total of 153 applications were received by PAEF for the 2009-2010 Fulbright Student Competition. Of this number, 12 were finally selected for the scholarship.
The Institute of International Education in New York and the PAEF have been working closely with Dascil regarding the completion of his application.
Earlier, in 2007, he participated in the Study of the United States Institute on American Civilization conducted by the Multinational Institute for American Studies at New York University.
Dascil entered the university in 2005. He graduated with a degree in philosophy, magna cum laude, in 1993 from the Divine Word Mission Seminary.
Meanwhile, Aris Reynold V. Cajigal, a faculty member of the College of Teacher Education, is currently in the United States pursuing Ph.D. in Science Education as Fulbright scholar. He is expected to finish the course this year.
