The MMSU College of Health Sciences (CHS) recognized 132 new registered nurses at its testimonial program on October 26, celebrating an 8th-place national ranking in the August 2026 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination.

MMSU's institutional performance of 98.51% comfortably outpaced the 76.74% national average, meeting the board's criteria of at least 100 examinees and an 85% minimum threshold for top-performing schools.

During the program, titled “eaRNed & Prevailed,” Dr. Cheryll Didi Nellie Obra, CHS dean, congratulated the passers on their achievement, noting that the Department of Nursing has sustained its standing among nursing schools in the Philippines and continued to uphold excellence in healthcare education in the region.

Representing MMSU President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano Jr., Vice President for Planning and Strategic Foresight Mee Jay Domingo congratulated the passers on joining the nursing profession. He emphasized that they now have the opportunity to become leaders and patient advocates in various healthcare institutions.

”You have the power and the responsibility to close the gaps in healthcare, to be champions of health equity, and to eradicate the stigma that surrounds so many conditions, and to save lives,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of his fellow passers, Lucky Garcia, R.N., recounted their shared experiences from their years of schooling and review to the licensure examination. He said their success was shaped by their decision to persevere through difficulties and by the support they received along the way.

”We continued, not always because we were strong, but because we found strength in the people who stood beside us. And not always because we knew exactly where the journey would lead us, but because we believed that the sacrifices we were making would eventually mean something.”

The university’s eight-place national ranking and the achievement of its 132 reflect MMSU’s consistent effort to provide quality health education in the country.
