Researchers from Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) hauled multiple awards in different categories for their research and development outputs during the 38th Regional Symposium on R&D Highlights (RSRDH) and the 4th Joint Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) Symposium, held on October 14-16 at the WCC Aeronautical and Technological College in Binalonan, Pangasinan.

Twelve MMSU studies won a total of 15 awards in the following categories: Oral Research (paper and poster), Oral Development (paper and poster), and ICIEERRD (professional).

Carrying the themes “Research to Resilient: Advancing AANR Innovations for Sustainable Ilocos Region” (RSRDH) and “Converging Research, Development, and Innovation for a Resilient and Sustainable Ilocos Region” for the 4th Joint RDI symposium, the events brought together researchers and development practitioners of Region 1 to present their studies that support regional development and sustainability.

In his message, MMSU President and ILAARRDEC RRDC Chairperson Dr. Virgilio Julius P. Manzano Jr. called on participants to translate research and knowledge into practical solutions that address the needs of the people.

”Let us continue to transform knowledge into innovations that respond to the needs of our people and contribute to a more resilient and sustainable future for the region,” he said.

Meanwhile, Vice President for Research, Development and Innovation and ILAARRDEC Consortium Director Nathaniel Alibuyog underscored the consortium’s sustained role in advancing research collaboration and scientific excellence over nearly five decades.

”The breadth of participation in this year’s symposium affirms the enduring value of our consortium,” he said, emphasizing that progress is best achieved when institutions, practitioners, and communities work together toward shared goals through collaboration and resource sharing.
