Artists and performers sustain medal haul for MMSU on day 2 of PASUC-1

As the regional culture and arts festival entered its next round of competitions, delegates from Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) added to the university’s medal haul across various categories at the University of Northern Philippines on February 25.
Among the performing artists who took the spotlight were Kent Cedrix Lipi and Alyssa Mae Domingo, who claimed 1st place in Duo Acting. Maria Louise Eclarin also ruled the stage, taking 1st place in Dramatic Monologue (English).
For Kent, being selected as one of the official participants came as an unexpected turn of events. He recalled that during the final critiquing of all performers, he and his partner had not even completed half of their piece.
“At that point, I doubted our chances again,” he admitted. However, as the competition drew nearer, their confidence gradually strengthened. “We learned to trust the process. Throughout our weeks of training, we realized that it ultimately takes courage to keep trying, even when the fear of failure tempts and deceives you into giving up,” he added.
Other awardees included Raelan Mendoza and Jasmin Gelbolingo, who took 2nd place in Pandalawahang Pag-arte; and Rei Venedict Mackay, Alecksa Espiritu, Aliyah Faye De Vera, Ma. Angelica Guerrero, Randy Manicap, Jr., and Angelo Diego, who secured 3rd place in the Short and Sweet Play Musical category.
Meanwhile, Ma. Danica Anjaneth Quime, Jzyla Jemaima Asis, Ezekiel Jehoram Alimpia, MJ Orque, Clark Admir Duldulao, and John Vianney Gaoiran earned 3rd place in the Short and Sweet Play Dialogue category and the 3rd place winners in the Radio Drama Competition.
The winning artists of MMSU will comprise part of the PASUC Region I delegation to the 2026 National Culture and Arts Competition, which will be held in Iloilo City.
