The MMSU–College of Business, Economics, and Accountancy (CBEA) officially opened its 39th Foundation Anniversary with a Thanksgiving Service and Opening Program held at Teatro Ilocandia on February 9, 2026, marking the start of a week-long celebration.

With the theme “One CBEA to SUCCEED,” the program highlighted the college’s milestones, alumni achievements, and future direction aligned with MMSU’s 7-point SUCCEED agenda. The event was attended by university officials, former administrators, faculty members, students, alumni, and institutional and commercial partners.

OIC-Dean Emil James Tanagon expressed his appreciation to former CBEA employees, alumni, and partners for their contributions to the college. He emphasized that the theme underscores unity and collective action toward achieving the college’s goals and supporting the university’s SUCCEED agenda.

Representing MMSU President Dr. Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs Aris Reynold Cajigal reflected on CBEA’s legacy of producing professionals who excel in their fields and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

“For 39 years, CBEA has been doing the hard, honest work of growing fruits we can truly be proud of: outstanding accountants, business leaders, economists, hospitality and tourism managers, and most importantly, good people,” Dr. Cajigal said.

Alumnus and ENZ Group Corporations CEO Zoren Johnmar M. Singson, a 2009 entrepreneurship graduate of CBEA, served as guest speaker. He shared his journey from student to entrepreneur and emphasized that success is built through collaboration.

“If there’s one thing that my journey has constantly proven, it is this: no one succeeds alone,” Singson said.

The program concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between CBEA and alumni-owned partner businesses to establish the Agila Discount Program, the first initiative of its kind in the university, offering discounts to CBEA students, faculty, and staff.

Other highlights included the unveiling of CBEA’s new logo, the launch of a coffee table book featuring the college’s achievements, and the ceremonial opening of the CBEA Trade Fair.
