Professional Regulatory Board of Chemical Engineering inspects MMSU facilities, operations

To evaluate and enhance the Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (BS-ChE) program at MMSU, Engr. Maricris Vines, Chairperson of the Professional Regulatory Board of Chemical Engineering (PRB-ChE), visited the College of Engineering (COE) on March 25.

Engr. Vines conducted an on-site inspection of the department’s facilities and assessed the program’s overall administration. This visit was part of a follow-up inspection regarding the progress of the initial assessment conducted on March 5, 2024.

COE Dean Sharona Barroga, Vice President for Academic Affairs Aris Reynold Cajigal, and Chemical Engineering Department Chairperson Eric Halabaso welcomed Engr. Vines during her visit.
Engr. Vines also interacted with faculty members and students, inspiring them regarding the chemical engineering profession and offering advice on preparing for the licensure examination.
According to COE Dean Sharona Barroga, the visit is part of PRB-ChE’s ongoing initiatives to uphold best practices in chemical engineering and ensure the quality of education provided in the degree program.

Since 1995, MMSU has offered a BS Chemical Engineering program after receiving approval through Board Resolution No. 228 s. 1994 on April 18, 1994. It is Level II accredited by the Accrediting Agency of State Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACUP) Inc.
