New MMSU USC officers and Sirmata editorial board take oath

MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis administered the oath of office to the newly elected University Student Council (USC) officers and Sirmata Editorial Board members for Academic Year 2024-2025 on Monday, August 20, at FEM Hall.


Dr. Agrupis encouraged the officers and editorial board members to be "models of effective leadership, excellence, and integrity" as they take on challenging yet rewarding responsibilities. She further emphasized their potential to contribute meaningfully to the university's ACHIEVE agenda.


Sworn in as USC officers were Executive Chairperson Aleczandrix Marc Cid, Executive Vice Chairperson Jett Alejo, Executive Secretary Precious Galano, Secretary for Finance Ritz Ray Ilustrisimo, Secretary for Logistics Lucky Charm Palting, and Councilors Timothy Andrei Sesano (CAFSD), Cherbie Kyle Pagatpatan (CAS), Jesther Reyes (CASAT), Karyl Ludizian Agcaoili (CBEA), Karl Dela Cruz (CCIS), Christian Leonard Marcelino (CHS), Jehosaphat Acosta (CIT), Mark Jaylord “Gia” Ibana (COE), Mark Lorenz Agustin (CTE), Reo Shannon Rangcapan (CVM), Ezhie Brielle Solis (LES), Chaieser Andrei Diculen (LHS-Batac), and Mary Ysabelle Calaoagan (LHS-Laoag).


Executive Chairperson Cid pledged that his administration would promote inclusivity and equality among university stakeholders while ensuring the officers remain visible and accessible to the student community.


The newly appointed Sirmata Editorial Board members, who also took their oath before Dr. Agrupis, include Editor in Chief Marc Louie Pasion (COE); Associate Editors Benedict Jay Collado of CTE (for print), Chris Jeremiah Antonio of CAS (for online), Ryand Angelo Ugalde of CAS (for broadcast); External Managing Editor Rodge Carl Vea (CAS); Internal Managing Editors Lujean Guieb and John Lloyd Balantac (COE); and Circulation Manager Moyrah Shaina Colobong (CAS).


Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Prima Fe Franco, Office of Student Affairs and Services Director Prof. Emil James Tanagon, Student Development Chief Dr. Maria Deleilah Adriatico, and Sirmata technical advisers Dr. Bryan Realgo and Prof. Bryan Eli Sadorra, attended the event.
