The Junior Association of Hospitality Practitioners (JAHP) - MMSU Chapter has been recognized as the 7th Most Outstanding School Organization by the Junior Tourism and Hospitality Management Association of the Philippines (JTHMAP). The award was presented on October 16 during JTHMAP's 5th Anniversary celebration held at the Lyceum of the Philippines University Manila.

Representing JAHP were Mr. Gabrielle John Feria and Ms. Divine Corrine Rapacon, both third-year hospitality management students and former JAHP officers. They presented to the national body the organization’s accomplishments and commitment to developing future leaders in the hospitality industry.

Mr. Feria earned recognition as an apprentice in the Information Technology Committee of JTHMAP for Academic Year 2023-2024. The awards were received alongside JAHP’s adviser, Ms. Kathleen Kay Tomas, a faculty member of the MMSU College of Business, Economics, and Accountancy.

Reflecting on their presentation Mr. Feria shared, “We were asked to share best practices of our organization, so we focused on our signature initiative: ‘JAHP at Your Service.’ This program provides members with hands-on exposure to the hospitality industry, preparing them to become excellent professionals.”

Meanwhile, Ms. Tomas expressed gratitude for the dedication shown by the officers and members, stating, “This recognition is a testament to the commitment of our officers and the support of our members. I hope this accomplishment inspires our current officers to aim even higher in their service to the community.”

With the theme “HIGH FIVE JTHMAP: Celebrating Five Years of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality,” the event brought together various school organizations across the Philippines, underscoring the importance of excellence in hospitality education and the growth of student leaders.
