Reigniting self-care among teachers, the MMSU Laboratory Schools in Laoag and Batac campuses conducted a seminar and destressing activities dubbed “Kammayet: The LS Way” last March 10.

The program highlighted various recreational activities focused on two aspects: the 3Ks (Kapihan, Kumustahan at Kwentuhan) and 4Ps (Pause, Pray, Paint and Pose).

Dr. Bert Gamiao, school principal, said they came up with the program to rejuvenate themselves after the tedious online classes in the past grading periods this school year.

The activity started through a Zumba session among the teachers. Then, a seminar and orientation on school events and activities followed where Prof. Mignon Diego, Prof. Romelyn Lagura and Prof. Elsie Marcelino discussed the following topics, respectively: Anchoring DepEd Updates on Laboratory Schools’ List of Events and Activities, E-Portfolio Presentation, and Ethics for Teachers.

Moreover, the teachers attended a reflection and spiritual activity with Rev. Florentino Reyes of Church of Christ Disciple. Lastly, they participated in the booth and destressing activity spearheaded by Mr. Marlon Mamala, Student Affairs and Services Coordinator of Laboratory High School in Laoag.

“Through the activities, we were able to regain our strengths we need to start the next grading period and continue deliver the best education to our dear pupils,” expressed Rica Jane P. Natividad, a faculty of Laboratory Elementary School in Laoag.
