The Planning Directorate of MMSU organized a two-day Operational Planning Workshop for its various offices at the University Review Center on March 12 to define the duties and targets of operating units in achieving the university’s 2033 objectives.

In attendance were Administrative Council (AdCo) members, led by University President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr., together with Vice President for Academic Affairs Aris Reynold Cajigal, Vice President for Research, Development, and Innovation Nathaniel Alibuyog, Vice President for Administration and Finance Fides Bernardo Bitanga, Vice President for Planning and Strategic Foresight Mee Jay Domingo, Vice President for Resource Generation and Management Bjorn Santos, college deans, directors, chiefs, and other staff.

During the workshop, each vice president discussed the key result areas (KRAs) that operating units should focus on based on the SUCCEED Strategic Plan. They also presented the annual key performance indicators (KPIs) and KRA targets that the university aims to achieve over the next eight years, focusing on education, research, extension, good governance, resource management, and workforce upskilling.

In his speech, Dr. Manzano emphasized the necessity of planning for the overall success of the university.

“It is important for all of us to follow a single blueprint when it comes to the operations of our university. With this, we will be able to fully realize our SUCCEED agenda,” Dr. Manzano said.

Speaking on behalf of the Planning Directorate, Director Sherlyn Nicolas shared that the workshop provides an opportunity for the university to determine the path it intends to take in the succeeding years.

“We are not just here to fill up spreadsheets later on, but to decide on the engine that would drive us through the next years,” Dr. Nicolas said.

Culminating on March 13, the 2026 Operational Planning Workshop aims to align university offices in achieving MMSU’s vision of becoming a premier university in Southeast Asia by 2033.
