Five academic programs undergo accreditation visit

Adhering to quality assurance, five academic programs of the Mariano Marcos State University are currently undergoing an online accreditation survey visit by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). The three-day activity started today, April 24.

A program at the University Review Center was held this morning to officially kick off the accreditation event. Administrators, college deans, and faculty members, and were joined online by the accreditors from AACCUP.

The programs under evaluation are BS in Business Administration and BS in Hospitality Management of the College of Business, Economics, and Accountancy (CBEA); BS in Pharmacy and BS in Physical Therapy of the College of Health Sciences (CHS); and Bachelor in Automotive Technology of the College of Industrial Technology (CIT). At present, all these programs are Level 2-accredited.

In her message, MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis expressed gratitude to the AACCUP team, “Thank you for sending the best and most discerning accreditors. We always acknowledge your recommendations to the performance of our degree programs."

Led by Dr. Boyet Batang from Isabela State University as the overall coordinator, the group is composed of Dr. Agnes Arellano from Batangas State University (BSBA); Engr. Ivy Mar Ramos (BSBA) and Dr. Loida Crespo (BSPT) from Bulacan State University; Dr. Jeanneth Darroca (BSHM) and Dr. Ria Monsale (BSHM) from Iloilo Science and Technology University; Dr. Florieza Mangubat (BSPh) from Cebu Technological University; Dr. Sarah Taupan (BSPh) from Western Mindanao State University; Dr. Leunamatileme Tosoc (BSPT) from Aklan State University; and Dr. Liza Tamargo from Ifugao State University, who is assigned to evaluate library service for all five academic programs.

“This significant endeavor will help MMSU in identifying areas that need development, while also assisting in maintaining the quality of the university’s programs and services,” Dr. Batang remarked.

The verification of documents will end tomorrow, April 25, to be followed by an exit conference on April 26. (HLY/JVBT, StratCom)
