COVID-19 centers in North Luzon receive Nipahol

Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) continues its efforts to serve amidst the COVID-19 pandemic by sharing its research output to the people.
On Saturday, April 18, sixteen hospitals serving as COVID-19 centers in North Luzon received a total of 320 liters of Nipahol (70% ethyl alcohol produced using nipa sap as feedstock) from the University.
These hospitals are: Abra Provincial Hospital, Apayao Provincial Hospital, Cagayan Valley Medical Center, Isabela Provincial Hospital, Kalinga Provincial Hospital, Regional Veteran's Hospital, Baguio General Hospital, Benguet Provincial Hospital, Don Amadeo Perez Memorial Hospital, Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital, Ilocos Sur Provincial Hospital (Gabriela Silang, Magsingal and Narvacan), Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center, Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center, and Region I Medical Center.
Also, the Department of Agriculture (Regional Office) and Mayor Nieri Flores of Naguilian, La Union received four and eight liters of Nipahol, respectively.
Production and rationing of 70% ethyl alcohol is part of the MMSU Saranay against COVID-19 Program which also includes the production and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), food rationing and online counseling to stranded students, food provision and medical services for the university's workforce, and providing accommodations for medical frontliners.
