CIT Open House 2024

The College of Industrial Technology recently hosted its annual Open House on May 9-10, 2024, inviting stakeholders to explore its offerings and initiatives.

This year's theme revolved around the pivotal role of technology education in fostering excellence. Highlighting the significance of technology education in the holistic development of students, the event commenced with a Thanksgiving Mass followed by the official opening declaration by Dr. Byron Joseph A. Hallar, the Chairman of the BSInTech Department.

Dr. Cesario Y. Pacis, the College Dean, reiterated the institution's dedication to being a beacon of technology education amidst the dynamic landscape of the field. Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, the University President, further emphasized CIT's potential to become an international leader in technology education and challenged the College to pursue greater achievements, aiming to establish itself as a hub for micro-credentialing.

The Open House featured a Campus Tour for students from various schools in the City of Laoag and Batac, showcasing CIT's diverse fields of specialization and innovative teaching methodologies. The event also included a graduation ceremony for students from the Bachelor in Automotive and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology programs, as well as TESDA-certified graduates in Bread and Pastry Production. Dr. Agrupis encouraged the awardees to embrace new challenges while expressing gratitude for their accomplishments.

The second day included a Campus Tour for students from other units of the city, along with a Stakeholders' Forum where industry partners provided valuable insights to enhance the College's curriculum and instructional quality. The event culminated in various activities, including the Technolympics, reflecting the College's commitment to transparency and community engagement.

The Open House exemplified CIT's dedication to advancing technology education and fostering collaboration with its stakeholders. Its success is also attributed to the overall cooperation of the faculty members, staff, and students of the College.
