<P><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size=5><STRONG>7 research papers qualify for presentation in int’l confab</STRONG></FONT></P>
SEVEN research papers of the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) have been qualified for presentation in the International Seminar-Workshop on Integrated Water Resources Management to be held Sept. 4-8 at the University of the Philippines (UP) in Diliman, Quezon City.
The papers which were accepted based on the review conducted by a scientific committee led by Dr. Joseph Foronda of UP are: 1) “Weather-based cropping calendars for the central lowlands of Ilocos Norte” by CG Acosta, ES Galacgac, HL Layaoen, CM Pascual, and RA Natividad; 2) “Weather forecasting methods in Ilocos Norte, Philippines” by ES Galacgac and CM Balisacan; 3) “Nutrient requirement and management of ‘Carabao’ mango in the sand dunes of Ilocos” by GS Pascua, MM Leaño, ZS Pugat, and MR Torres; 4) “Sustainable gravity-type drip irrigation system for lettuce” by CM Pascual and M Ganda; 5) “Land use effects on water resource of the sand dune ecosystem in Ilocos Norte, Philippines” by FC Pastor, MAVO Espaldon, DA Pastor, and ESG Damaso; 6) “Current state of Padsan River, Ilocos Norte: Extent of pollution and its causative factors” by FC Pastor, SMa Pablico, DA Pastor, LC Agbigay, and FB Asia; and 7) “Characterization of shallow aquifer properties in Region I” by RT Utrera, NR Alibuyog, RA Natividad, and RM Caoili.
The seminar-workshop is an activity of the Eco-Sustainable Resources Development Philippines, Inc. (eSURED) in cooperation with the German Alumni Water Network and SURED Alumni Network.
