<P><STRONG><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size=4>Region I is 3rd in PASUC nat’l cultural festival</FONT></STRONG></P>
REGION I’S contingent to the 3rd Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) National Cultural-Literary Festival clinched the third overall standing (second runner up) behind champion National Capital Region and first runner up Region XII.
The university’s Nasudi Cultural Troupe and Nasudi Chorale contributed significantly to the overall performance of PASUC-I during the said competition held July 4 at the Bulacan State University in Malolos.
Levi Bayudan placed first in the on-the-spot painting competition. He was coached by Prof. Rolet Reyes of the College of Industrial Technology. On the other hand, Ruthchelle Espher Guerrero and John Marc Cadiente bagged the fourth place in dancesport. Rowell Tagatac served as their coach and trainor. Other winners and their respective events and coaches were: Nasudi Cultural Troupe – fourth place, folkdance (Rowell Tagatac and Randy Leaño); Nasudi Chorale – fifth place, choir ( Randy Leaño and Dr. Marilou Aurelio); and Brian Billy Piñera – seventh place, dagliang talumpati (Joan Lacar). The other placers came from MMSU’s partner state universities in the region.
The university’s delegation was led by Physical Education and Sports Development Office (PESDO) Director Arsenio T. Gallego, PESDO Cultural Chief Florecita Q. Cortero, and Property Manager Jesus U. Ranchez.
