DR. LUCENA R. Felipe, University Library System director and American Studies Resource Center (ASRC) area director, has announced the availability of new information resources at the ASRC.
Several new books on religion, history, geography, anthropology, and recreation, social sciences, politics and government, law, and language and literature are now available for room use and overnight lending.
The area also has new collection of multimedia materials on religion, politics and government, and language and literature that can supplement classroom discussions on the mentioned subject matters.
Dr. Felipe also encourages faculty, staff, and other information users to browse US Embassy in Manila’s website at http://philippines.usembassy.gov which provides information on US-RP mutual security, terrorism, human rights, global issues, and biotechnology which may serve as sources of topics for classroom discussions or references for paper works.
She, likewise, recommends users to visit the Thomas Jefferson Information Center at http://Philippines.usembassy.gov/wwwh2002.html, a significant site for topics/information on international security, economic and global issues, democracy-human rights, and society, culture, and values, among other important topics. The Philippine-American Educational Foundation at http://www.paef.org.ph which provides information on opportunities for post-secondary education in the USA as well as on educational advising sources is also a significant website worth visiting.
