MMSU team attends conference on Internationalization of PH Tertiary Education

Officials of MMSU and members of the university’s International Coordinating Committee (ICC) and the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) team attended the Conference on Internationalization of Philippine Tertiary Education held at the Vigan Convention Center in Vigan City on October 24.

 

Almost all of the state colleges and universities (SUCs) in the country were represented during the conference. Themed “Digital Media Futures for ASEAN Integration in Higher Education: Seamless and Accessible: Inclusive and Quality Assured,” the event was conducted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in collaboration with the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU).

 

During her talk on the "Philippines Legal Foundations of Quality Tertiary Education", Dr. Lilian A. Delas Llagas, CHED Commissioner and the Chair of the MMSU Board of Regents, declared that “the Philippine Education is now in the age of Education 6.0.”

 

“In the academe, we practice the culture of openness and sharing with a heart, mind and soul riding upon technological advancement and industrialization. Higher education is seamless and accessible, inclusive and quality assured,” she mused.

 

Meanwhile, Dr. Agrupis talked about “Inclusive Higher Education through Internationalization and Quality Assurance”. She presented the Inclusive Higher Education Framework and shared the advocacies of MMSU on inclusive education through internationalization and quality assurance.

 

Other speakers in the conference were Dr. Melinda D. Bandelaria, Chancellor of the UPOU; Dr. Grace J. Alfonso, Executive Director of TV UP; and Dr. Lisa Grace S. Bersales, former National Statistician and Civil Registrar of the Philippines and a UP Professor. They talked about the Strategic Framework Towards Increasing Access to Quality Higher Education, Technology Mediated Education, and Open Access to Data for Quality, respectively.
