<P><FONT face=Verdana size=5><STRONG>MMSU faculty speak in nat`l dance workshop</STRONG></FONT></P>

FOUR MMSU faculty members were tapped to serve as resource speakers in the 22nd Dance Educators’ Convention-Workshop held May 21-24 at the basement of Teatro Ilocandia.

PESSDO Director Arsenio Gallego lectured on “Authenticity and modernity in dance”.  Randy Leaño, PESSDO cultural affairs chief, taught a dance called “Nasudi; Rowell Tagatac, dancesports; and Dr. Rhoda Beth Santos, “Jota Lalloqueña”.

The workshop was attended by over a hundred dance teachers from all over the country.

The national convention was sponsored by the Dance Education Association of the Philippines (DEAP), CHED, and DepEd.  It was the third time MMSU hosted the said workshop. Next year’s host is University of Baguio.

Meanwhile, in a meeting held June 10 at Max’s Restaurant in Laoag City, Gallego was elected DEAP business manager while Jesus Ranchez and Santos were chosen members of the association’s board of directors.
